Spooky Squash In the Pumpkin Patch

For each PSQG Quilt Show, my Bee, the Frayed Knots, establishes a challenge for us. For the 2020 show, it was to incorporate curved piecing into a project. My project is “Spooky Squash in the Pumpkin Patch,” and my inspiration was (1) a bundle of orange fat quarters purchased at a quilt shop in Indiana, and (2) a talk by sisters Jenny Pedigo and Helen Robinson at our 2019 guild banquet. Jenny and Helen developed the Quick Curve Ruler and Quick Curve Mini. Their pattern, “Mini Pumpkins” which uses the Quick Curve Mini, was the basis for “Spooky Squash.” Erica Barrett is responsible for the wonderful custom quilting. I’m looking forward to hanging this quilt in my entryway each fall.
